Coronavirus: Here’s how the coronavirus cases add up by ZIP code in Orange County as of June 26 – OCRegister

The Orange County Care Agency updated its tracking website on Friday, June 26; new features including now offering by Zip code data.

The county’s report noted another 17 deaths, increasing the total to 323. Of the 323 deaths, 170 were listed as people in skilled nursing facilities and three were listed as homeless.

There were 479 new cases of coronavirus confirmed as of Friday, but officials said that number was playing catch up for delays from 28 different testing dates. The cumulative case total is now 11,960 since testing began in March.

The seven-day average for daily cases reported was 283, dating back to June 19.

The county has also started releasing an estimate for the number of recoveries from the virus, which was 6,763 as of Friday. The recoveries are based on the prior 28-day cumulative case count.

According to the California Department of, there have been 104 deaths in Orange County in the last 14 days.

The state agency reports 546 hospitalized patients in the last 14 days (suspected and positive) in 33 hospitals across the county as of June 25. The state’s coronavirus-tracking dashboard also shows Orange County has at least 38% of its ICU beds still available.

The cumulative countywide testing total reported Thursday was 231,902, with data through June 23. The county’s test total reported Friday was 207,720.

The California Department of reported that the positive test rate for Orange County has been 5.8% in the last 14 days, out of 67,524 tests. The report also noted that Orange County has had 3,917 new cases in the last 14 days. In the same time period, Los Angeles County has had 22,717 new cases and Riverside County has had 5,210 new cases.

The county data shows 17% of the total cases are those 65 and older, the same age group represents 75% of the deaths.

The county’s breakdown of deaths by age is as follows:

  • 85 and older: 31% (101)
  • 75-84: 27% (87)
  • 65-74: 17% (55)
  • 55-64: 12% (39)
  • 45-54: 9% (30)
  • 35-44: 2% (8)
  • 25-34: 1% (3)
  • 24 and younger: 0%

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
